Health is more than taking care of our physical bodies; it encompasses your mental, emotional, spiritual, social and environmental health. Health is maintaining balance, taking care of our body, having a positive attitude, having good relationships, developing your spiritual connection and living in harmony with nature.
You are responsible for your health, your thoughts, your actions, and your habits. You can create a positive life by practicing good habits each day. Here are the six different areas of health and the importance of each of one. All of these areas are interconnected and are essential to maintaining good health.
1. Physical Health
Physical wellness involves taking care of your body, eating nutritious foods, moving your body, getting enough sleep, and maintaining good habits. Think about physical health every time you eat, exercise and rest. Appreciating your body is the first step of taking care of it. Listen to your body and pay close attention to how you are feeling. 2. Mental Health
Mental wellness involves your thoughts and the quality of your thoughts, the monkey mind. Think positively, this area of our health involves learning new things, setting and achieving goals, taking responsibility for our actions and making the right decisions. One way you can maintain good mental health is meditating at least for 10 min; this will quiet your monkey mind and keep your focus on one thing.
3. Emotional Health
Recognize and appreciate each of your feelings is the first step to maintain emotional health. Focus on maintaining a positive attitude each day, which will generate positive feelings and emotions keeping your stress levels low. One way you can maintain good emotional health is spending quality time with your family and friends. Do things that you enjoy and are suitable for your health on a regular basis.
4. Spiritual Health
Spiritual wellness involves your awareness of purpose, following your mission, your beliefs, and morals. Some people call it religion, spiritual path, the path to enlightenment, or divine connection, etc. We all are spiritual beings having a human experience. One way how you can maintain your spiritual health is practicing what you believe and respecting other people’s paths, travel more, meet new people, learn from different cultures and act with love.
5. Social Health
We all are social beings, we all want to be loved and crave interaction with others, this is why spending time with family and friends and doing activities together is important. Social wellness involves having a secure social network that can give you support and guidance, respecting others, accepting differences, providing, and developing healthy relationships. One way you can maintain social health is spending quality time with those you love, meeting new people and making new friends.
6. Environmental Health
Environmental wellness involves taking care of your global environment, taking care of resources, and have a sense of responsibility. We all share one beautiful home and is called Earth. One way you can maintain environmental health is practicing being a conscious consumer, lowering your carbon footprint and spending more time in nature.
